Straddle Leg Stance & Straight Punch 6x
Instructions:
Turn the feet forward. With hands forming fists, extend both arms forward one fist apart and level with the solar plexus, palms facing down. Quickly, pull both arms back to your sides, solar plexus level. The hands should be tight and close to the body. This is done while making a yell. The palms of your fists face up. Extend your left hand out in front of the solar plexus, palm down. Then, execute the Straight Punch 6x. This is exactly like the straight punch from the beginning of the exercise, but executed at three different heights: the first and second punches are at chin level, the third at the solar plexus, the forth and fifth punch are groin level, and the sixth and last punch is executed at the solar plexus. Remember to do each and every technique separately and completely, do not run them together losing the integrity of the technique. This happens most often when going too fast, too soon. Also, remember your body should not bob up and down. The arms should rub against your body. "Kiaii" with the sixth punch.
The transition to the open leg stance is performed after completing the straight punch 6X. It is the stance used for all the kicking techniques. |
